SEO in Tashkent: realistic timelines and pricing

In Tashkent, SEO produces the first measurable movement in 3-4 months and a stable result in 8-12. Pricing starts at 3-4 million UZS a month for a low-competition niche and climbs past 15 million for e-commerce with hundreds of SKUs.

Why there is no single price

SEO cost in Tashkent is set by three variables: how many pages need optimising, how competitive the niche is, and the site's starting condition. A 5-page landing page for 'apartment renovation' and a 3,000-SKU store for 'building materials' are fundamentally different workloads, even though both get called 'website promotion'.

Agencies in Tashkent typically quote either a fixed monthly package or an hourly rate with a first-quarter hour estimate. Fixed pricing is easier to budget against; hourly is more honest for non-standard work like a domain migration.

Market benchmark for 2026: a local landing page or services site runs 3-6 million UZS a month; a mid-sized corporate site with 20-50 pages, 6-10 million; a category-and-filter online store, 10-15+ million, depending on whether the package includes technical audit, content and link building or just the technical layer.

What the price is built from

Technical audit and fixes are a one-off at project start: load speed, mobile layout, duplicate pages, structured data, robots.txt and sitemap.xml. A typical site needs 20-40 hours here, then the volume drops to maintenance level.

Content is the largest line item over time. A properly researched SEO article — not a rewrite stitched from three sources — costs 150,000 to 400,000 UZS for 1,500-2,500 words in Tashkent, depending on topic complexity and whether RU/UZ bilingual delivery is required.

Link building and mentions are the least predictable cost item, covered in detail in the article on link building. A sensible budget is 15-25% of the monthly package, not more: over-investing in links before the site is technically ready just burns money.

Real timelines, month by month

Months 1-2: technical foundation, indexing through Google Search Console, base keyword mapping. Traffic barely moves — expected, not a sign the strategy failed. This is the period where the site earns trust in the search engine's eyes.

Months 3-4: low- and mid-frequency queries start entering the top 30-50. First organic clicks appear in the Performance report in Search Console. For a new domain with no history, this is a normal pace — Google takes longer to warm up to a young domain than to one with five years behind it.

Months 6-8: some queries reach the top 10, organic traffic becomes a measurable channel rather than noise. For competitive commercial queries in crowded niches, a realistic top-10 timeline is 8-12 months, not the 3 months some agency ads promise.

Past 12 months growth slows but gets cheaper per acquired client: unlike paid search, an SEO channel doesn't need linear budget growth to hold its positions.

Telling a promise apart from a realistic plan

Red flag: a guaranteed top-1 spot by a fixed date. Rankings depend on Google's algorithm, which changes dozens of times a year, and on competitor moves. A responsible agency talks in ranges and process metrics, not just a final position.

Ask for specifics, not a generic 'rankings improved' report: a screenshot of the Performance report broken down by query, impression and click trends, a dated list of technical fixes. If an agency can't show this after the first month, it likely isn't doing much beyond producing a PDF.

Compare proposals by composition, not the final monthly figure: hours on content, hours on technical work, whether link building is a separate line. A cheap 2-million-UZS offer usually means no content work at all — just a quarterly technical pass.

When SEO won't pay off quickly

For a narrow B2B niche with 20-50 relevant monthly queries across all of Uzbekistan, payback stretches out because of low demand volume, not poor execution. In such niches, pair SEO with paid search early and treat organic as a long-term asset.

For highly seasonal sites — heating equipment, for instance — ramp up early: seasonal-query work needs to start 3-4 months before peak demand, or the site simply won't rank in time for the season.
