Registering a .uz domain: process, documents and pitfalls
The domain is the one site asset you cannot recreate. Developers can be replaced and hosting moved, but a lost domain is recovered through courts.
Which zone
.uz and its second-level zones signal locality: users read the company as operating in Uzbekistan and search engines factor it into regional results.
.com makes sense if you work beyond the country. A common approach is registering both and 301-redirecting the secondary one, protecting the brand without splitting authority.
Documents and process
Registration goes through accredited registrars. Companies typically supply registration certificate, tax ID and an application; individuals supply passport details.
Registration is annual. Enable auto-renewal immediately and make sure notices reach a mailbox the company permanently controls.
Who should own it
The domain belongs to the company or its owner, never the contractor, developer or marketer. The rule exists because it is broken constantly.
Check the owner in whois. If it is not you, request a transfer while the relationship is still working — it is far easier than reclaiming rights later.
