Website myths that cost businesses money
Most failed projects start not with a bad contractor but with wrong expectations. Here are the expensive ones.
'The site is done, that's it'
Launch is the start, not the finish: traffic, content, enquiry handling and maintenance follow. A site without traffic is a business card in a closed drawer.
The budgeting consequence: funding only development is a mistake. Plan comparable spend on attracting visitors in the first year.
'Design is what matters'
Design affects trust, but decisions are made on substance: a clear offer, a price, timelines, an easy way to get in touch.
The opposite extreme also hurts — sloppy layout and poor photos read as untrustworthy. Aim for a sensible standard plus substance.
'The site will sell for us' and 'we have Instagram'
Sites generate enquiries; people sell. If nobody answers Telegram within the hour, no website compensates for it.
Social platforms work for reach but live by someone else's rules — algorithms change, accounts get blocked, and search traffic does not arrive there. A site is the one channel you fully own.
