Advertising in Uzbek Telegram channels: choosing placements without overpaying

In Uzbekistan Telegram is often the primary way to reach an audience rather than a supplementary one — and the placement market is almost entirely unregulated.

Why Telegram works here

A large share of daily communication, news and shopping runs through Telegram: district channels, topic communities, classifieds and news feeds.

Unlike social platforms there is no algorithmic feed — a post reaches subscribers, so reach from a genuine channel is predictable.

The post leads straight into a conversation rather than to a website, the shortest available path to a lead.

Vetting a channel

Ignore subscriber counts; look at views relative to subscribers and at how evenly views are distributed. If old posts have the same views as fresh ones, the numbers are inflated.

Check comments and reactions — a live local channel produces discussion, often mixing Russian and Uzbek. Silence behind big numbers is a warning.

Request a month of statistics rather than one good day, and watch for subscriber spikes with no news event behind them. Also check what has been advertised there: a channel full of betting and dubious loans has an audience blind to ads.

Pricing, format and measurement

Prices vary widely: a small niche channel may cost a few hundred thousand UZS per post, a large city channel millions. There is no rate card — you negotiate with the admin.

Posts are read like a message from an acquaintance. Exclamation-heavy ad copy is rejected; specifics work — what, for whom, at what price, where to write. Keep it within one phone screen.

Give every channel its own UTM link or bot link, and track views, conversations and sales in one table. After a few months you will own a vetted placement list worth more than any third-party analytics.
