Page speed: why it is critical for sales in Uzbekistan

A slow website loses customers before they ever see the offer. Given mobile connectivity in Uzbekistan, the effect is pronounced.

The cost of one extra second

Every additional second of load time noticeably reduces the share of visitors who reach your content, and losses are higher on mobile than desktop.

Most traffic in Uzbekistan is mobile and connection quality varies by region. A site that loads acceptably on office Wi-Fi may be unusable in Fergana.

Which metrics to track

Core Web Vitals: LCP (when main content appears), CLS (layout stability), INP (responsiveness). All checkable free via PageSpeed Insights.

Targets: LCP under 2.5 seconds, CLS below 0.1. Read the mobile tab specifically, since that is what Google ranks on.

Common causes of slowness

Uncompressed full-size phone photos, heavy sliders, a dozen third-party scripts, and bloated templates.

Hosting is a separate issue: cheap shared hosting with a distant server adds latency to every request.

Quick wins

Image compression and modern formats, lazy loading below the fold, removing unused scripts, caching and a CDN.

These usually lift a mobile score from critical to acceptable without rebuilding the site.
