Yandex.Metrica: session replay, heatmaps and goals
Almost every site has Metrica installed and almost nobody uses it, although it is the one free way to see what people really do on your pages.
The minimum setup
Counter on every page, session replay on, click and scroll maps enabled, and goals configured. Without goals it reports visits but never answers whether the site brings enquiries.
Track real actions: form submissions, phone-number clicks and taps through to Telegram. Missing the messenger goal undercounts local sites badly.
Using replays and heatmaps
Filter rather than watching everything: key pages, converting visits, and long visits without a conversion — the last are the most informative. Ten recordings usually reveal the pattern.
Scroll maps show where most people stop; a price block below that line is effectively invisible. Click maps often show people tapping things that are not links — cheap conversion wins.
Reports worth a weekly look
Traffic sources broken down by goal completion — the largest channel is frequently not the one producing enquiries.
Device reports too: markedly lower mobile conversion points at a mobile-layout problem, which is the most common finding in local projects.
