A Telegram bot for online courses: selling and delivering materials
For small online schools a bot often replaces a dedicated platform: it sells the course, delivers materials and takes the student from payment to certificate.
Selling the course
The bot shows the course programme, answers common questions (duration, format, price) and accepts payment right inside the chat. The path from interest to payment takes minutes with no redirect to a separate site.
For instalment plans the bot can track the payment schedule and remind about the next due date, removing manual tracking from the school administrator.
Delivering course access
Once payment is confirmed the bot automatically unlocks the first lesson or the whole course, depending on format. Manually sending out links is a source of delays and mistakes, especially with 50+ students.
Lessons can be released on a schedule — a new one unlocking a day or a week after the last — which suits formats with homework and sequential progress.
Progress and reminders
The bot tracks which lessons a student has opened and completed, and can nudge them if they have not logged in for several days. This reduces drop-off, since forgetting rather than losing interest is usually the main cause on online courses.
On completion the bot can issue a certificate or a link to claim one — a small touch that noticeably raises student satisfaction.
Cost
A course-sales bot with scheduled material delivery: 5M–8M UZS. With instalment payments, progress tracking and certificates: 9M–14M UZS.
For schools with several courses, budgeting for an admin panel to add new programmes without a developer is a separate but worthwhile line item.
