Website development stages, from brief to launch

Clients picture development as 'design it and code it'. In practice half the work happens before the first visual exists.

Brief and research

It starts with a conversation about the business, not the website: who the customer is, how they find you now, what they ask before buying, and how you differ.

Existing data helps — old site statistics, Telegram enquiries, the questions your managers answer daily. Real questions build better structures than competitor screenshots.

Prototype before design

A wireframe fixes block order and button placement without colour. This is where conversion decisions are made, and it is the stage most often skipped.

Skipping it is expensive: reordering blocks costs minutes on a wireframe, a redraw on a finished design and a rebuild in code.

Build, content and launch

Front-end, then logic: forms, filters, admin panel, Telegram and payment integrations. Content preparation should run in parallel — it is the most common cause of delay, and usually on the client side.

Launch means testing forms on real devices, checking both language versions, configuring analytics and redirects, and handing over every access credential.
