IT startup website: explain the product in 10 seconds, pitch investors, show traction

A startup site gets three different visitors with different goals in ten seconds — a prospective user, an investor and a future hire. Trying to serve all three in one hero section is the classic mistake.

The hero should explain the product, not the mission

'We're changing the future of the industry' says nothing about what the product does. State in one sentence what it is, who it's for, and what problem it solves.

Show the product visually right away — an interface screenshot or short demo — not an abstract illustration. A visitor who hasn't seen the product won't trust the copy.

A dedicated investor page

Investors look for signals, not marketing copy: team background, project stage, growth metrics if you're ready to share them, funding raised, press coverage.

If metrics are modest, don't hide them entirely — showing a clear growth trend beats leaving a vacuum investors fill with worse assumptions.

Documentation and status for technical users

If the product is technical (API, SDK, developer platform), documentation and a status page belong on the site itself, not behind a closed Slack.

State the product stage plainly — closed beta, public launch, waitlist — and what happens after signup.
