The website sales funnel: where customers are lost

Only a handful of a hundred visitors leave an enquiry. The question is not why they are few, but at which step you lose the rest.

The first screen

The biggest losses happen in the first seconds. A visitor must instantly grasp what you do, in which city, and whether it fits their problem.

Test it: show the first screen to someone unfamiliar with your company and ask what is on offer. Hesitation means your visitors hesitate too — and close the tab.

The middle: price and proof

'Price on request' reads locally as 'this will be expensive'. Even a range or a worked example sharply reduces drop-off.

Then evidence — real photographs, named reviews, a clear process — and answers to every objection your phone staff hear daily.

The form and the follow-up

Every extra field costs submissions. Name and one contact method is enough for a first touch, and a Telegram button often collects more than the form itself.

The funnel continues after submission: an enquiry answered three hours later is close to a lost one, so measure response time as part of conversion.
